As I finish the laundry for the day....

I pose to you this question: Why is it that the ONE bib that I forgot to velcro the ends together before I put it in the wash ends up attaching to the ONE item in the entire load that snags when you pull it off?!?! And why does this one item have to be the brand spankin' new pair of britches that I bought the other day, and have not even had a chance to wear, and now they are all "fuzzy" and snagged on one part. Please explain this to me.....

37 Week Appointment, Labor and Delivery, and Poopy Pants

Well, all I can say is WHAT A DAY!!!

It started off with my 37 week appointment today-which was scheduled for 10:15. I took Ella with me because Reid had to be at church for a rehearsal. The 10:15 Appointment turns into more like an 11:15 appointment because they were running behind, so I end up getting out of there at 11:30 after arriving for the appointment at 10:00. Although Ella was VERY good considering the circumstances, trying to entertain a 3 year old in that environment for that long is enough the frazzle anyone!

Anyway-it was a standard appointment-weight, blood pressure, baby's heart rate check and measurment. Just before she was going to use the doplar to check his heart rate he had this giant movement that you could see from the outside, which made the doctor laugh. Then as soon as she put the doplar on my stomach, the heart rate was really slow, but immediately went back up to a normal, healthy rate. She said that this happens when they move sometimes because they squish the cord. So, all was good and we left.

About an hour and a half later I get a call from one of the nurses at the office. She says that the doctor wants me to go to Labor and Delivery immediately to have the baby monitored for a while because of the earlier heart rate incident. So, by now I am freaking out.-I mean, she did use the word IMMEDIATELY!! So, after I get Ella taken care of, I head to Labor and Delivery, of course thinking of all worst possible scenarios. After I check in they hook me up to a fetal heart rate monitor and I end up laying there for about an hour. Turns out everything is perfect, and the doctor was just using the "better safe than sorry" approach. So, I was very relieved to say the least! It's hard to believe I will be back there in about 3 weeks!!!

Moving on to Poopy Pants....

The plan for tonight was to meet up with my in-laws who came into town this afternoon for dinner and then the "Night of Worship" at North Point. After I came back from the hospital, I got changed into some nicer clothes to get ready to go, and was getting Ella ready to head out for dinner. Literally about 5 minutes before we were going to leave, Ella had to go to the bathroom-and of course, needed some "Pribacy". So, I leave her to go to the bathroom, waiting for her to call me to wipe her. soon I hear "Mommy! There's poopy on my pants!" I go in to find that she had gotten down off the toilet to wipe, and somehow got poopy on her pants that had ben laying on the floor. GREAT! We are about to walk out the door and I didn't have a change of clothes for her-nor were the pants she had on salvagable!!

That was the last straw for the day! I said, "That's it! We are going home!!"

Sometimes, there comes a point where you just have to throw in the towel for the day and say UNCLE!!

Yikes! I'm going to bed early tonight.....

Teaching Children Respect

First of all, letme appologise for the last post and this one being rants-but I just had to blog this!

So, today we were at my parents neighborhood pool swimming. They have a really nice pool in their neighborhood, complete with a kids area that has all these like spraying, water park like things in it. It is very neat and fun! The kids part just opened at the end of last month, so it is fairly new. Anyway, there is a giant rules thing posted on the fence of this kids area that clearly states that the area is for children under the age of 5. Seems like a no brainer, right?

Last weekend while we were there, I was very impressed with the life guard staff and how they strictly enforced this rule. Gathering up kids that were too old, walking them over to the rules poster and reading the rule outloud to them. Way to get the point across! I have to admit, it made me laugh when I saw the life guard do it, and I wanted to walk right up to him and say, way to go! ;)

Fast forward to today while we are there. We were headed to this kids area, when a group of like 10-12 9 year old girls head over to this area, along with a few boys around the same age. As I am about to open the door, I say to them, "You have to be under 5 to come in here, sorry!" (hehe) I mean, there are several little kids in this area, and they don't need a bunch of older kids splashing them in the face, etc, etc... So, all is well and good and I am proud of myself for saying something. Then one of the Moms of the girls goes over to the lifeguard, and then brings all of the girls into the childrens area and lets them in. WTH? I am thinking....

Turns out, the President of the Home Owners Association (emphasis on the Ass part), told the life guard that he is not allowed to enforce the age limit, and that anyone can go in there. Nice.

So, this all got me thinking and really bothered about the situation! First of all, what message are these parents sending to their children? "I can break whatever rules I want if I don't like how it effects me." Forget the fact that the rules for the baby area were created to ensure the safety of the little ones that should be in that area. So, these parents are also teaching their children a lack of respect for others.

So, congratulations to all the parents that were there today that let their overgrown brats take over the baby pool today. Congratulations for raising the next generation of self-absorbed, rule breaking, disrespecting people! Way to go! I hope you are as proud of them when they are breaking curfew, drinking under age, and just blowing off your rules as you are today-when you were laying the foundation for it.

One of those days...

Do you ever just have one of those days that you just feel irritated the whole day and you don't know why? Today was one of those days. I hate that! :(

Is this what Hell feels like?

Ok, I know I am 7 months pregnant-but I don't care if you are pregnant or not, IT IS DANG HOT!! I mean, seriously! You know when your 3 year old says "It's too hot, Mommy!" then it is hot! The past three days we have been to my parents neighborhood to go swimming, and even the pool water is hot it is so hot outside! But the crafts, games, playdough, movies, etc... have been "played out", so we went swimming in the bath water anyway. :)

Yikes! Come on September and some cooler weather!!
